This month's item is a saw set gauge, used to assist in setting the teeth on crosscut saws. The tool is placed vertically along the side of the saw blade, with the top of the tool parallel to the teeth. The distance between the tooth and the edge of the top of the gauge indicates the degree to which the tooth needs to be adjusted.
