Running pliers are used to cut scored glass. We recently started taking stained glass classes, which is where we stumbled across them. In fact, we used them on our first stained glass projects. They're a handy tool that's relatively easy to use. To enlarge the pic shown, click here.
The head is convex on one side and concave on the other to facilitate breaking, while the vinyl covers are used to protect the glass. To use it, simply place the line (on the head) over the score mark and squeeze gently. Some styles contain a screw to adjust the stop-gap for use on various thicknesses of glass.
