would place it atop a row of bricks and lift the handle, causing the ends to grab the bricks firmly and enabling a person to carry and release several bricks
comfortably - ideally, with one hand. While its main purpose is the transport of bricks, it is also used for other things, like boards.

This carrier, named the "Brikarier" by
the manufacturer, was patented in 1921. That's significant because it
was made by the Fuller Manufacturing Company, established in 1887. The
company was reincorporated in 1915 as the H.B. Fuller Company.
