This month's item is a Nye nipple wrench, also known as an inside wrench. It's used when you need to grip or turn a threaded pipe but don't want to damage the threads in the process. Specifically, it's used to insert a nipple (a short piece of pipe that's threaded on each end) into a pipe until snug. A wrench is then used to turn the tool, which rotates the nipple firmly into the pipe. It's ideal for plumbing, but it's also used in radiator repair. To enlarge the pic shown, click here.
