Nashville Rescue Mission seeks to help the homeless of Middle Tennessee
by offering food, clothing and shelter and recovery programs to those in need.
The
mission’s life-recovery program uses a Christ-centered approach to help men and
women resolve personal problems and chemical addictions. During their time in
the program, participants receive Christian counseling, participate in group
discussions, learn how to heal from past wounds and develop new and healthy
ways of coping. They also get the chance to study the Bible and participate in
the education program to improve their academic and employment skills or obtain
a GED.
The mission’s education program offers individualized encouragement through
education and computer training classes. While some individuals prepare to take
their GED exam, others are taught basis arithmetic and literacy. Additional
classes are taught on parenting, grief and loss. All are given an opportunity
to pursue academic and professional skills for the workplace, including job
preparedness, resume writing and interviewing skills. Participants also learn
about financial planning and developing a family budget. To learn more about the Mission, click here.
