The inspiration for this box came from a calendar I've been hanging onto
for years. The theme is vintage travel, and it was the perfect way to
pass a dreary November afternoon.
Every January, I find myself getting rid of the old to make room for the
new, which was the inspiration for this box. I recently ran across an
old calendar of World War II aircraft - specifically, nose art.
This box came from a 2009 calendar that hung in my office . . . until
2011. In some ways, it's surprising that I still have a job. I call it
my June Cleaver box.
I love all things old, including pin-up art from the '40s and '50s, and
Gil Elvgrin is one of my favorites. For alternate views, click the links

The idea for this box came from a calendar of vintage posters I bought
in 2005. I'd held onto it for years because I liked the pictures. I knew
I would eventually use them, I just didn't know how. For alternate

This box, too, was made by request. It is identical to the preceding box with one exception. The person ordering it asked that the top and bottom pictures be reversed.
This box was made by request and features pinups ranging from the 1840s to the 1930s. The pictures come from Peep Show Pinups, The Golden Era, by Jo and Paul Richardson. Click the links below for alternate views.
After my first pin-up box, I learned a lot - mainly that corners have a
tendency to fray. With that in mind, I took a more methodical approach,
creating a template by which to organize my photos. The end result was
much improved. For alternate views, click the links below. No longer available
The pics for this box (my first attempt at decoupage) were taken from a book titled Gil Elvgren.
Because the paper is heavier than that from a magazine or newspaper, it
was a great medium to work with. Click the links below for alternate
